On Friday, June 13th, an exhibition of “Photo Haiku (写真俳句)” by a Japanese photographer Mr. Yuji Ogawa (小川裕司) was held at the Tina Ujevića Library in Zagreb. A group of volunteers from our Japanese Studies visited the exhibition. According to Mr. Ogawa, this was his first solo exhibition in Croatia. After the opening talk, we all enjoyed viewing the “Photo Haiku” works, which combine photographs with haiku poems. Students shared various comments such as “Croatia also has an old tradition of poetry culture” and “The grammar and kanji characters in haiku are different from what we usually learn in class.” We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Mr. Ogawa for kindly donating several photo haiku plates to us. Thank you very much.
